Lotus Workflow Roadmap

Expose basic Workflow services as Web Services; based on Domino 7 core web services hosting feature.
  • Initiate workflow
  • Request status
  • View Activity list

Notes Traveler 8.5.1 - bővített iPhone támogatás

Az egész anyag megtalálható a Lotus Greenhouse-on. Én is onnan másoltam le, de nem volt időm lefordítani. Remélem nem gond.

Installing the Lotus Notes Traveler clients

The Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.1 server comes preloaded with the Windows Mobile and Nokia S60 clients and are accessible via your Lotus Notes Traveler User Home Page. See the information center for existing information about installing the Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5 client:

As mentioned above, there is no Lotus Notes Traveler client to install on the Apple devices (iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPod Touch), but an account for Mail, Calendar and Contacts must be created on the device before you can connect to the Lotus Notes Traveler server. The user has the option to use the bootstrap process to create the account automatically (recommended) or create the account automatically. Apple provides an iPhone Configuration Utility which can be used to dynamically generate profiles that the user may install on the device. The profile may contain information for the required Exchange account in addition to other information such as network access points, certificates, and so on.

Note: The Apple device only allows one Exchange ActiveSync account. If you currently have an Exchange ActiveSync account configured you must remove the account before proceeding with the following account creation steps.

Steps for Apple account creation (bootstrap method)

  • 1. Direct the Safari browser to your Lotus Notes Traveler User Home Page (http://traveler.lotus.com/servlet/traveler).
  • 2. A User Status section at the top of the home page shows the status of the user and any of the user's devices. Make sure that there are no error messages, which would be highlighted in red, in this section. If errors exist, they probably need to be addressed before synchronization will be successful.
  • 3. Select Generate a Bootstrap File.
  • 4. Verify the logon name (HTTP user name) and mail address (defaults to Internet address but can be any Notes-formatted address).
  • 5. Select Generate.
  • 6. Select Install to begin the profile installation process.
  • 7. When prompted about the authenticity of the profile, select Install Now to continue to install the profile.
  • 8. When prompted, enter the password and select Next.
  • 9. When the profile has been installed, select Done to return to the previous application (e.g., Safari).

Your new Exchange ActiveSync account will have been created under Mail, Contacts, Calendars in the Settings application. Registration with the server begins immediately and mail, calendar, and contacts should begin to show up soon.

Steps for Apple account creation (manual method)

  • 3. Return to the home screen by pressing the home button (the only button on the screen side of the device).
  • 4. Select Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Microsoft Exchange.
  • 5. Complete the following fields, and select Next.
    • Email is your mail address (e.g., abc@greenhouse.lotus.com).
    • Domain is left blank (optional).
    • Username is your HTTP user ID.
    • Password is your HTTP password.
    • Description is optional (defaults to the Email field value).
  • 6. Specify your server in the Server field (http://traveler.lotus.com/servlet/traveler), and select Next.
  • 7. Select Done.

Apple account customization

Access your account settings on the device by opening the Settings application and scroll down to Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

  • To change which applications are synchronized and how much mail to synchronize, select your IBM Lotus Notes Traveler account. Then turn applications on or off and select how far back to synchronize mail.
  • To change how much calendar data to keep on the device, scroll down to the Calendars section of the Mail, Contacts, Calendars settings. Select Sync, and then select how far back in the past to synchronize calendar events. Note that all future events always synchronize to the device.

Apple Account Deletion

The Exchange ActiveSync account is deleted by simply reversing the creation process.

  • Delete manually-created accounts (Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select account > Delete)
  • Remove bootstrap-created accounts (Settings > General > Profiles > select profile > Remove)

Apple Device Support

Apple mail support

  • Two-way sync of Lotus Notes mail
  • E-mail folders sync from server to device (Apple devices do not allow the user to create, rename or delete mail folders on the device)
  • Rich HTML content
  • Read/unread status
  • Delete and move mail to folders
  • File attachments (attachments larger than 1 MB must be explicitly downloaded via a user action within the message)

Note: We are currently working on an issue concerning the compatibility between the Lotus Domino address format and the Apple device. The Apple device expects the e-mail address to be in the Internet format. The Lotus Notes Traveler server currently synchronizes the address from the mail message as-is. When forwarding, replying or composing messages, the Apple device displays a warning if it detects an "invalid" address but allows the user to continue sending.

Apple calendar support

  • Two-way sync of Lotus Notes calendar
  • Full support of recurring events including Lotus Notes "custom" repeating events
  • Create appointments and all day events on the device (cannot include attendees, so no meetings can be created from the device)

Note: When you configure a device to sync with Lotus Notes Traveler, all existing calendar and contact information on the device is overwritten.

Apple contacts support

  • Two-way sync of Lotus Notes contacts (if using a local personal address book, it must be replicated to the Lotus Notes mail database)
  • Photo field can be synchronized

Note: When you configure a device to sync with Lotus Notes Traveler, all existing calendar and contact information on the device is overwritten.

Apple push support

  • Lotus Notes Traveler server supports ActiveSync push protocol
  • Push is implemented as a long running HTTP request (new server-side data triggers the response to the client which initiates the synchronization on the next HTTP request)
  • New push request is initiated once synchronization is complete
  • Push can be turned on/off in device settings
  • Lotus Notes Traveler provides push service for mail (Inbox only), calendar, and contacts

Key features not currently supported

Apple devices do not support the following features:

  • Built-in ToDo application
  • Built-in Journal (Notes) application
  • Create, rename, or delete of mail folders on the device
  • Priority indicator on mail messages
  • Synchronization of mail drafts folder
  • Encrypted mail
  • Moving messages to folders, deleting messages or making read status changes while not connected to the server

The following features are supported by Apple devices but are not yet supported by the Lotus Notes Traveler server:

  • Cannot accept or decline meetings from the device (invitations appear in the Inbox but no action can be taken)
  • Mobile security policy enforcement (no password rules or inactivity lock enforcement)
  • Embedded attachments such as pictures (current behavior shows box with '?', though Internet e-mail should work with pictures as they are URL links)

Lotus Notes 8.5 Trial magyar nyelven

Ezeket a kódokat általában éjszakánként szoktam feltölteni otthonról. CRC-vel lehet összerakni a csomagokat.

Domino/Notes 8.5 trial

Újabb lehetőség azok számára, akik szeretnék minél szélesebb körben kipróbálni a 8.5 újdonságait. A szerver és a kliens mellett elérhető az dmin kliens és a designer is. Szeretnéd kipróbálni az ID Vaultot vagy összedobni egy egyszerűbb kompozit alkalmazást próbaképpen, a termékek megvásárlása nélkül? Itt a lehetőség.
